Wonder of wonders, I'm actually writing about a day on the same day! The reason for this is that we didn't actually do much today. Mr. Big showed up at about 10:30 to drive us back to the Three Brothers in Legian. A couple of hours of horrendous traffic later, there we were. And here we are.
I took the opportunity this morning, before we left, to take some photos to clarify my "sort of beach" comment earlier, referring to the beach at Candidasa.
Here's the "beach"

and here's what holds up the beach.

Just for fun, here are a few more photos, a fishing boat

the breakwater (it's low tide now),

and the off-shore islands.

Bern was totally enamored of the palms with air roots, so we definitely needed a photo of those.

And now for the pièce de résistance. When we were first here, a few days ago, I had a pedicure and manicure, and the process where tiny fish gum your legs and feet to remove dead skin. I didn't have my camera then, but Nancy and Bern decided to have it done today, and this time I was ready.
Here are Bern and Nancy and the fish/massage lady.

Here are Bern and Nancy looking a bit bemused

And here's what they're bemused about.

Finally, a close up of the wee beasties.

It really is a fun thing to do, and it really does leave your lower legs feeling great. Go figure.
Ok, enough. Nancy and Bern are off to get those shirts Bern had had made that had not come by the time we left last week. It's almost cocktail time. Tomorrow, Nancy and I say goodbye to Bern and head off on our own, first to Thailand for overnight and then, on the day after tomorrow, to Luang Prabang, Laos. We'll miss Bern. It's been great being with him. Being on our own, in Laos for crying out loud, seems like a big deal.
Oh well, take a deep breath and on we go.
I love pedicures, but I'm not so sure about the beasties!! Mary
